My iPhone and Apple Watch are out of Sync

Training Today needs to sync health data between Apple Watch and iPhone to ensure the RTT Score matches on both iPhone and Apple Watch apps.

Here's how that works:

  1. Apple Watch captures HRV data and stores it in Health on Apple Watch
  2. Apple Health is synced from Apple Watch to iPhone via iCloud using a process Apple controls
  3. Training Today calculates your RTT on your Apple Watch based on the 7-day Health data available (which is all that Apple Watch can store) and we sync longer baseline data from Training Today on iPhone using iCloud and device to device processes
  4. Training Today calculates your RTT on iPhone using data stored in Health on iPhone
Normally each time you open the iPhone app or the Apple Watch app data is sent and synced between the two and everything is fine, but it is possible that delays can occur in steps 2 and 3 above.
If this happens, the iPhone will most likely be the correct one, but you can force a re-sync by closing and re-opening the app on Apple Watch.
To quit the Apple Watch App:
  1. Press the Side button once on your Apple Watch.
  2. Turn the Digital Crown to scroll through the active apps and select Training Today. (You can also do it by using your finger)
  3. Swipe from right to left and tap the large red X that appears beside it to close the app.
You can now re-open the Apple Watch app and it should be in sync with iPhone. If you are still having trouble, shut down the iPhone app too (see https://support.apple.com/en-gb/HT201330), restart it and then try the process again.
